Question by echo c: Is it right to market something as being somehow “healthy” when it is potentially harmful?
What do you think of marketing tactics that use words that imply “healthy” (e.g. natural, lite, lo, low-fat etc.) when the reality is rather different.

Example 1: Cigarette manufacturers are currently facing court action over their marketing of “lite” cigarettes (which seem to be more even more harmful than regular kind) as a somehow “healthier” option.
Example2: A Which! survey shows cereals that use words like “natural” etc. are full of sugars or fats & hardly natural.

Please ignore the emotive topics of cigarettes & cereals, this is a question about marketing & how it can mislead.
How would it be if they told the truth … ?

One day they will have to speak the truth otherwise they will face court action every day of the week. What will eventually happen is that the consumer will start growing their own veggies (like I do), make their own pizzas, (like I do), make everything from scratch using their own home grown products. (Of course there are some things I need to buy)

about Weight Loss Diet from a different
light. Today’s is titled #10 My 6 weeks weight loss update Dukan Diet cruise phase .

6 weeks on the Dukan diet and another 2 lbs lost. It is consistent and I am happy with that. I did go off the straight and narrow a few times but it does not affect my weight loss. I think that is because the calorie count is still very low and Im not eating junk or sugar. I also have another recipe here for a beef stir fry type dinner. Except I use the pressure cooker again. If you have not yet seen videos about ricing cauliflower, just shred it in a food processor then put it in a microwave with a cover on it, Set for 5 minutes and use as you would rice. This recipe is great over riced cauliflower. Add some more veggies at the end if you like. Check out my blog for more detailed entries. dukandiet.lotsainfo.com

Question by girly: Do “liquid fasts” really make you lose weight? Is it safe?
I have heard that it is good to do a “liquid flush” to get rid of toxins in your body and lose a couple pounds. Basically, it is drinking water, fruit juices, and vegetable juices for a couple days – and nothing else. It seems healthy enough because you’re still consuming veggies and fruit and you’ll be plenty hydrated… but I’d like to know more about it before I go ahead and do it. Has anyone out there tried this? What was your experience?
